Toronto Contemporary Beauty/Glamour Portraits: My journey

As a photographer and as a person I am always evolving and figuring out who I am and where I fit in the industry.  I initially started out doing exclusively family and maternity portraits.  Over the years I tried it all and wanted to do it all.   I am definitely refocusing myself and keeping sight of what I truly love as a photographer.  I am purging all the other aspects that I do not fancy and honing in on becoming a master at what I love to do.  I love to help women feel beautiful, whether it is someone who is interested in documenting their pregnancy, celebrating life, or capturing the relationship of a mother and daughter.  I am working on my craft by taking an art history course and I’ve stopped looking at what other people are doing in the industry and just focusing on what I like and what makes me happy.  I am learning, growing and enjoying the journey rather than waiting to “arrive”.  This session encompasses all the things I love: natural light, fashion, big hair and makeup….

A mothers day portrait session: Toronto and Ajax contemporary portrait photographer

I do not aspire to be a fashion photographer nor do I aspire to be famous. I aspire to be the best photographer of everyday women. So when you see your final images the response is “wow, I could be on the cover of _____________magazine. As those who grace the pages of today’s magazine’s are everyday women but we have been made to believe they are somehow special or different; not true.  This session was a celebration of  beauty, love  and life between mother and daughter.   Enjoy and remember to capture the moments that matter this year with your mom!

Glam Session

Beautiful canvas print

Recently I had an amazing mother and daughter glam session.  The session was lots of fun and some amazing images were captured as a result.  Below is one of the images that the client purchased in canvas format.  I love the bold colour,  which is a great choice for a canvas and I am sure it will look stunning on the wall of her home.

Make-up, girl talk and pretty pics!: Contemporary portrait photographer

The make-up/glam session is always a ton of fun; this session is the most laid back and fun session that I provide.  I love it because it feels like hanging out with friends rather than work.  We discuss everything from body image to reality TV; sip pretty drinks and just hang out.  With all our make-up/glam sessions, a make-up application and hair styling are included with the session.  Here are some before and afters from one of our recent make-up/glam session.  All the make-up was done by the talented and awesome Kate Easterbrook.
