Ajax Maternity Photographer: Our growing family.

Posted September 22nd, 2011 in Beautiful families, Maternity by Gina Ayanna

Once a session is booked the first thing that happens is a consultation.  The consultation helps to figure out each client’s vision for the photography session, who they are and what they want to capture.  Romona was very clear, she just wanted to spend the session with the people that matter most in her life and capture the love and warmth of her family.  I hope when she looks at these images below she sees her vision brought to life.

In my initial consultation with any client, I discuss the vision that they have for the maternity session.   We go through what the client has in mind and I throw out different ideas, then we work together to create a concept for the shoot.  I have always been hesitant to suggest doing a nude maternity session but it has been something I have wanted to shoot for some time and have been waiting for the right client.  So you can imagine my surprise and excitement when I got the go ahead to do a mix of nudes and casual shots.

I definitely think doing nudes when you are pregnant allows me as a photographer to capture vivid details of a fleeting moment in your life.  I am very thankful to this client as she allowed me to step outside the box with her and do something truly creative and different.

Thank you for being bold, so together we could create something beautiful.

Karen and I have known each other since high school and we keep in touch through facebook and girls night outings.  It is interesting though, how photographing someone is such a personal experience and how I see people so differently when I photograph them even if I have known them for years.  I was able to experience the sheer excitement and love that Karen has for her unborn son.   Karen, I love your laughter and the expressions that you made throughout the shoot.  You have reinforced the importance of just being and how much we truly live if we are always honest in every moment.

Wishing you a safe delivery and can’t wait to meet the little guy in October.

Celebrating life and love,

Gina
