Random Stuff

Posted January 26th, 2010 in Miscellaneous by Gina Ayanna

This is just a random post with the some of the things I have been checking out in the last  two weeks.   I have been reading a new book….one of my “me time” activities.  I have just finished “Veronica must die” by Paulo Coelho.  The book was amazing and is a reminder to me of how much we try to fit into other people’s definition of who we are instead of going within and discovering who we really are.   My commitment to myself after reading this book is to JUST BE and really focus on my authentic self as opposed to fitting into the box of other peoples expectations.

I am also reading The Photographers Eye by Michael Freeman.  This is a great resource for photographers and goes in depth into composition and can give you a great foundation, however the rest is up to you.  An excerpt from the book is below:

“A great deal goes on in the process of making an exposure that is not at all obvious to someone else seeing the result later…. What I will attempt to do here is to show how photographers compose their images, according to their intentions, moods and abilities and how the many skills of organizing an image in the viewfinder can be improved and shared.”

Here are some blogs/sites i love!

www.growinguptoronto.com

Christine shares how winning a contest has ignited a passion that was always there and now we get to follow along and read her really funny stories that are great for the whole family.

Claudia’s work is beautiful and if you are looking for a wedding photographer she is definitely one of the photographers to consider.

I also became a member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers and you can check them out at www.napcp.com I will post more about this later.

Oh and for all the moms out there that are looking for cute clothes for the girls, you can check out matilda jane clothing.

that’s all for now

New Year, New Possibilities!

Posted January 8th, 2010 in Miscellaneous, News by Gina Ayanna

So with a new year just beginning, I am taking time to reflect on the great things that we were able to accomplish last year and some of the things that need to be improved.  I will be spending more time this year on blogging as well as focusing on the total customer experience and making sure that that I find even more fun locations than last year. I also plan to interact with more photographers and take a workshop or two to make sure I am constantly improving.

I want everyone to know that even though it may seem like I am totally responsible for Beautiful Images, that is not the case.  Our success is due to the work of my wonderful partner in life and all the tireless hours he spends on making sure that the images look just right in post processing as well as constantly challenging me creatively, though I may not always see the love in it at the time. :)

I read so many different blogs for inspiration and came across this blog  notebookdoodles and loved the concept and wanted to share them with you.  All images below are from notebookdoodles.

Thanks for reading and to a new year filled with new possibilities.

Celebrating love and life,

Gina
