All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!

Posted November 19th, 2009 in Child Portraits by Gina Ayanna

I remember loosing my front teeth as a child and if we have met, you might understand the trauma. My front teeth are big… at least I’ve always thought so. The thing is now I can say, it is what it is and move on but when I was young that was not the case. Especially being a girl, I remember that awful song that my family tortured me with (All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth)

Thankfully cute little Mr. Cassie need not worry about these things. He is filled with curiosity about the world around him and has questions about everything. I am positive that he could win the Guinness book of world records for talking non-stop. There is an absolute joy that he has for everything around him… that thing we have as children and seem to loose as adults. I am thankful for the moments that I get to be reminded to be a kid again and this was one of those days.

Halloween @ Babies on the Hip

Posted November 5th, 2009 in Beautiful babies by Gina Ayanna

Last Saturday my daughter Nyla and I headed to kids on the hip also known as Baby on the hip for some Halloween fun.    Kids on the hip is a store that carries lots of great items for babies and toddlers from the Bamboozle bamboo cloth diapers to the Rock Star stroller line.  To find out more check them out at http://www.babyonthehip.ca

The store had planned activities for Halloween such as face painting; storytelling and the kids had the opportunity to try out some of the cool toys that the store carries. It was so much fun to see all the kids in their cute costumes and Nyla had lots of fun playing with the other kids and all the cool toys at the store.

It is crazy how cold it is already and so it is time to say goodbye to outdoor sessions.  You never know though, this year I might come across some brave clients who are looking to capture a winter wonderland.  However until that happens I will be shooting indoor maternity and baby sessions for the winter season.

Moving on to the session…  It was my absolute pleasure to meet and spend some time with F, N and G.  This family is sweet as ever and so much fun to be around.  There was so much laughter, these two have a powerful connection and every time they looked at baby G you could just see the love.

In every capture from this session I was reminded that the love of a family is one of life’s greatest blessings.
