This Tuesday I had a session at Morningside Park in Scarborough with a beautiful family of five.  This was one of the best sessions I have had so far this year.   C & D’s two little boys kept me laughing for the whole session.  I am always amazed at the amount of energy that boys have they just keep going and going and going.  This family is definitely founded on love and constant laughter and it was such a pleasure to be a part of that for a couple of hours.    Also these little cuties were very animated for the camera and I got some really hilarious shots of them, more to come when I finalize the shots from this session.

Celebrating Love and Life

A couple of weeks ago I had a family portrait session with the owner of my daughter’s daycare and her family.  This is definitely the time of year for family portrait sessions as the weather is getting warmer and flowers are starting to bloom.

Most of the people that I work with  value the moments that they have as a family and want to capture that in print.  I am honored to be able to help families document their history/her-stories to pass on to the future generation.

The keepsakes and photographs that we pass on to our children will mean so much more to them as they get older.

I have this really old photograph of my grandmother and me as a baby.  This  photo means so much to me because I  never got to know her, she passed away when I was about four and a half.  Growing up, every time that we pulled out the photographs and landed on that one,  my parents would tell stories of how much my grandmother doted on me and took me everywhere and loved to spoil me rotten.  Now every time I look at that picture I remember the stories and always feel that my grandmother is with me, still loving me always.

Natural beauty what is it really?  To me it is the ability to capture a real moment, raw and unstaged the essence of who you are on the inside that is what makes you beautiful.  For the longest time I have looked within myself and tried to determine what i want the world to see when they see my photographs and what has spoken to me most loudly is the natural beauty within us all.  Our laughter, and our tears, triumphs, and failures as that is what we all have experienced and is the common thread that we share as humans… we are all the same in spite of our differences.
