Hope for Haiti Now

Posted January 29th, 2010 in Miscellaneous by Gina Ayanna

The earthquake that happened in Haiti touched our family deeply as my sister in law is a Haitian Canadian.  She still does not know for sure if all of her family is okay but she keeps holding out hope.  We watched the Hope for Haiti Now telethon at her house and it was such a moving experience.  If you have not had a chance to download the album from itunes please take a moment and do that, for only 7.99 you not only receive 20 moving and inspirational songs but you will be helping the people of Haiti to rebuild their lives.

Random Stuff

Posted January 26th, 2010 in Miscellaneous by Gina Ayanna

This is just a random post with the some of the things I have been checking out in the last  two weeks.   I have been reading a new book….one of my “me time” activities.  I have just finished “Veronica must die” by Paulo Coelho.  The book was amazing and is a reminder to me of how much we try to fit into other people’s definition of who we are instead of going within and discovering who we really are.   My commitment to myself after reading this book is to JUST BE and really focus on my authentic self as opposed to fitting into the box of other peoples expectations.

I am also reading The Photographers Eye by Michael Freeman.  This is a great resource for photographers and goes in depth into composition and can give you a great foundation, however the rest is up to you.  An excerpt from the book is below:

“A great deal goes on in the process of making an exposure that is not at all obvious to someone else seeing the result later…. What I will attempt to do here is to show how photographers compose their images, according to their intentions, moods and abilities and how the many skills of organizing an image in the viewfinder can be improved and shared.”

Here are some blogs/sites i love!
